Before the championship season starts we ran a non-championship season opener at Kyalami. This was a chance to try out pitstops for those that haven't done so up to now. The first championship race was at Zandvoort.

This season sees a number of important rule changes. Please read the Rules section for full details; the changes are summarized below.
The tokens system is replaced by the use of pitstops and free car choice.
Along with this, there is a new points scale (50, 41, 33, 26, 20, 15, 11, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0).
The season will be nine races long. One race will be at an add-on track,
the other eight will be at standard GPL tracks.
No races will be scheduled for bank holidays.
No results are dropped from a driver's score, each and every race counts.
A "yellow card" system will be used to deal with repeated bad driving.
Drivers who cause incidents will be penalised actual places instead of points.
All divisions will use Int Long. Any driver who uses Shift R will have to take a Stop & Go. There is a limit on the number of Shift Rs permitted in one race.
The voluntary Stop & Go rule is dropped.
We've decided to run a parallel championship in each division for those who stick with a single chassis. You won't need to do anything extra, but the idea is that you can measure yourself against others who give up the chance to swap cars and take advantage of the marques which are perhaps more suited to certain tracks.
